Pialli! ¡Hola! Hello!

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.

I am delighted that you are considering me to help you with your business journey.

For the past several years I’ve been traveling across the world, from South Africa, to Perú, and Costa Rica, helping social entrepreneurs grow their brands and businesses in a conscious and ethical way.

My full name is Joshua Ismael Álvarez Vázquez. My pronouns are he/él/they/elle. I identify as an Indigenous Xicano and Tejano. I’m a descendant of the Guachichil / Chichimeca people of what is known as San Luís Potosí, México. I’m also proud to be Queer. I describe myself as a creative visionary, spiritual activist, advocate, empath, healer, peace-builder, and meditation teacher. I bring my lived experience and identities to all my work.

I’ve been studying business for over 10 years now. From a young age, I noticed how our current society and economy were all profit-driven and disconnected from the needs of our environment and communities. This realization ignited a passion in me to figure out how we could transform how we do business, which led me to study sociology and business at The University of Texas at Austin. During my senior year, I received a Fulbright Scholarship for a study abroad program at the University of Cape Town focusing on social entrepreneurship within the townships.

After graduating college, I chose to serve communities globally and work with socially and environmentally conscious entrepreneurs to launch, grow and scale their businesses. Since then, I have worked with ethical brands like TOMS, Raven + Lily, and Krochet Kids. I have seen many effective business strategies and tools that have led to impactful outcomes within diverse communities.

I decided that I wanted to dive deeper into my service, so I joined the Peace Corps. I served in an Indigenous Chorotega community called Matambú in Costa Rica doing community economic development work, where I supported community leaders to start social enterprises and develop sustainable community tourism, you can read more about our work here.

After serving in the Peace Corps, I live and work in Washington, DC, where I worked with a Black-led consulting firm focusing on intersectionality, social justice, and equity within philanthropy. I was also an environmental justice activist and LGBTQ+ community organizer, advocating for communities of color.

Currently I reside in my hometown of Dallas, Texas where I work remotely. Most recently I worked at a consulting firm doing strategic digital communications, branding, and marketing, focusing on racial healing in communities of color.

In my spare time you can find me traveling, dancing, and raving at music festivals and concerts, or eating at your local vegan spot!

In case no one told you today, you are a marvelous piece of the Universe and this planet needs you.

You are a divine being. You matter, you count.

You come from realms of unimaginable power & light, and you will return to those realms.

Stay blessed & stay humble.
